Yearly, Hendricks Power and other cooperatives send a few young members to Camp Kilowatt & the Indiana Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.!
Each year, Hendricks Power sponsors multiple youth programs to empower and educate our community’s younger generation. This year, we will be continuing to support the Commitment to Community Scholarship, Youth Tour, and Camp Kilowatt.
Hendricks Power and Indiana’s electric cooperatives are accepting applications for awards that recognize the community spirit of Indiana’s youth.
The Youth Power and Hope Awards program honors Indiana students in fifth through eighth grades who are leaders in their communities. Applicants are not required to be cooperative members to be considered.
Up to five qualified candidates will be selected to receive $500 and be featured in the Indiana Connection magazine, among other highlights.
Each year, Hendricks Power partners with Indiana Electric Cooperatives to host the Youth Power and Hope Awards. The program recognizes middle school students leaders making a difference in their communities.

Hendricks Power Cooperative has announced that in-person youth programs will return in 2022. Each year the organization provides sponsored programs to benefit local middle and high school students, including Camp Kilowatt, formerly Touchstone Energy Camp, and a Youth Tour Trip to Washington D.C.

Each year, Hendricks Power awards scholarships to local high school seniors. Winners are chosen based on academics, community involvement, and an essay submission. This year's essay prompt was, "Which cooperative principle do you this is most important and why?"
