Successful Season of Youth Programs
Hendricks Power Sponsors Students to Attend Summer Youth Programs.
Camp Kilowatt
June 4-7, Camp Kilowatt took place at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, IN. This year, 99 campers from co-ops throughout Indiana participated, with the support of chaperones who helped make the camp a success. Hendricks Power had five members and one employee chaperone in attendance. Camp Kilowatt offered a variety of exciting activities, including a high-ropes course, horseback riding, canoeing, archery, bucket truck rides, zip lines, rock climbing, swimming, games, and much more. Campers: Asher B., Plainfield Community Middle School, Audrey W., Homeschool, Carston H., Brownsburg East Middle School, Oluwalonimi B., Brownsburg West Middle School, and Virginia F., Brownsburg West Middle School. Chaperone: Andrew W., Energy Advisor.
Youth Tour
June 15-22, the Indiana Youth Tour took place in Washington, D.C. Sixty-one students from 26 co-ops and their chaperones went on a week-long trip to the nation's capital. The trip aimed to educate students about American history and government, providing the opportunity to make lifelong friends, and much more. Highlights of the Youth Tour included visits to Gettysburg National Military Park, George Washington’s Mount Vernon, and a meeting with Senator Young. Participants: Funmilayo A., Brownsburg High School, and Sadie H., Henry Academy/Cornerstone.
