The Youth Power and Hope Award is for students in fifth through eighth grades who are active leaders in their community and live in Indiana. Being an active member of the community can mean anything from volunteering at your church to being involved with 4-H to helping support local hospitals or other community organizations. Past winners have raised thousands of dollars and donated thousands of toys for Riley Hospital for Children, started a coat drive for the less fortunate, raised funds to cure diabetes, developed a program to provide police officers stuffed animals to comfort children in crisis situations and much more!
If this sounds like you, you’re encouraged to enter our Youth Power and Hope Award contest where we celebrate our group of upcoming community superstars. All you have to do to enter is tell us how you’re making a positive difference in your community. Winners will travel to Indianapolis in December to be recognized for their achievements and to attend a special program in their honor. In addition, they will receive a free night’s stay in downtown Indy and will be featured in an upcoming issue of News & Views and the Indiana Connection Magazine.
