The new time of use rate makes using energy after 8 pm worth the wait.

As winter approaches, we want to help you maximize your savings potential by shifting your energy use away from higher-priced hours. All it takes is some planning and attention to your energy use. During On Peak hours (5-8 pm weeknights) you will want to avoid using major home appliances, such as your dishwasher, clothes washer, or dryer if possible. During this time, the demand for energy is high, which means higher generation costs and higher prices.

Can It Wait 'Til 8?

The new time of use rate, effective in April, makes using energy after 8 pm worth the wait.

Effective with April's usage and reflected in May's statements, Hendricks Power is implementing a new time of use rate. The new rate reduces On Peak hours to 5-8 pm on weeknights. This update better reflects the cost of wholesale power, which fluctuates throughout the day and is most expensive for Hendricks Power to purchase during On Peak times.
