Hendricks Power works closely with Community Action (or CAP) agencies, as well as township trustees to obtain assistance for our members who are having difficulties paying their electric bills. EAP is a low-income energy assistance program made available through the Indiana Division of Family and Children.
Hendricks Power is aware of the financial hardships many families are facing. There are several resources available to help you pay your energy bills.
2-1-1 is a free and confidential service that provides Hoosiers with help and answers from thousands of health and human service agencies and resources in their local communities.

Family Promise assists local families in Hendricks County with rent, utilities, food, and other necessities. To see if you are eligible, visit at familypromisehendrickscounty.org or call (317) 296-3742.
WICAA offers assistance with education, employment, housing, food, child care, health care, transportation, utilities, support systems, family interactions, and addictions. WICAA serves Putnam, Vigo, and Clay counties. Contact them online at wicaa.org or by calling (812) 232-1264.
Winter Moratorium (December 1 – March 15)
Hendricks Power will not disconnect residential electric service between December 1 and March 15 if the customer has applied for, or is receiving, heating assistance from the federal LIHEAP administered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and local community action agencies. The customer must have applied for or be receiving such assistance to qualify for the moratorium protection.
(NEW) Heat Index-based Summer Disconnection Prohibition
Hendricks Power will not disconnect residential electric service for any customer who is eligible for and applied for LIHEAP assistance in the current calendar year on any day when the National Weather Service has issued a forecast indicating the heat index at the customer’s service address will reach or exceed 95°F within the next 48 hours.
If a cooperative has issued a notice of disconnection to an eligible customer and the disconnection day falls on a day that meets or exceeds the heat index threshold, the disconnection must be tolled until the first day on which the heat index threshold is not forecasted to reach 95°F.
