Registration for the 2023 Danville Police and Fire Summer Camp, sponsored by Hendricks Power Cooperative, will open on February 1, 2023, at 7:00 PM. The camp is open to any Danville youth ages 9-13 currently registered with Danville Community School Corporation or homeschoolers within the Danville district.
This year’s camp dates are July 24th to the 26th, from 8:00AM-3:00PM daily at Ellis Park. The cost of the camp is $50.00.
This three-day camp will provide our local youth with an opportunity to have positive interactions with Danville police officers and firefighters as well as provide an education regarding what our agencies do on a daily basis. Campers will be provided camp t-shirts, hats, water bottles, and backpacks. Lunch will be provided daily. The camp will include many activities including: interactive water safety presentation with the Danville Fire Department Dive Team at the Gill Aquatic Center (campers will need swimsuits), a crime scene investigation and evidence collection activity, hands-on smoke house education and scenarios, K-9 demonstrations, and so much more!
The camp is limited to the first 48 kids who sign up, then a waiting list will be created once we reach that threshold. Participation would not be guaranteed for those on the waitlist.
Registration will be thru the Danville Park and Recreation desk at the following link: https://danvilleparks.recdesk.com/
