The Cooperative Commitment to Cybersecurity

Hendricks Power knows that part of offering members excellent service is ensuring security and reliability. Reliability means repairing wear and tear, upgrading equipment to withstand severe weather, and using technology that keeps our system and member information secure.
Software Upgrades
Hendricks Power implements the newest state-of-the-art software upgrades focusing on cybersecurity and reliability for our members. All employees also use multi-factor authentication on sensitive platforms, which adds an extra layer of protection, even in the case of a compromised password.
Employee Training
Each Hendricks Power employee completes quarterly cybersecurity training that focuses on preventing phishing, data leaks, and password compromises. Staff also participates in simulation table-top exercises to practice security measures semiannually.
Collaboration
Hendricks Power works with its power provider, Wabash Valley Power Alliance, statewide organization, Indiana Electric Cooperatives, and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) to increase reliability and cybersecurity. In addition, Hendricks Power works with other co-ops nationwide to develop new technologies and infrastructure, learn from one another and keep the grid's cyber network secure.
We can't stop a storm or predict every possible disruption, but as a co-op, we do everything we can to keep the lights on and our members protected.
