Hendricks Power, CoBank and Operation Round Up Donate to Nonprofits Within Community

Hendricks Power Cooperative and its members help non-profits receive funding to benefit the local communities we serve. Over the past few weeks, donations have been made by Hendricks Power, the CoBank Sharing Success Program, and on behalf of Operation Round Up.

CoBank and Hendricks Power Donations
CoBank is a cooperative bank serving agribusinesses, rural infrastructure providers, and Farm Credit associations. CoBank Sharing Success is an annual fund that matches contributions to charitable organizations.

Hendricks Power Cooperative announced that CoBank has matched two donations to support local organizations. Hendricks Power and CoBank each donated $3,000 to the Stilesville Volunteer Fire Department and $3,000 to the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Preschool.

The Stilesville Volunteer Fire Department donation provides firefighters with wireless headsets to relay information more easily among their crew and, most importantly, help protect their hearing.

The Pittsboro United Methodist Church Preschool donation will help fund commercial playground equipment for the preschool, youth groups, and children in the community.

"We are grateful for our relationship with CoBank and thankful that they recognize our community's needs," stated Greg Ternet, CEO of Hendricks Power Cooperative.

Operation Round Up
Operation Round Up is a voluntary fundraising program that lets members round up their energy bill to the next whole dollar. The “rounded up” difference is then deposited into the Hendricks Power Cooperative Operation Round-Up Fund, at local community foundations.

On behalf of Hendricks Power Cooperative members, Operation Round Up recently donated $1,500 to the Pittsboro Elementary School Robotics Team, $3,000 to Susie's Place Child Advocacy Centers, and $1,000 to the North Salem Volunteer Fire Department.

The Pittsboro Elementary School Robotics Team donation will be used to help fund its trip to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

Susie's Place Child Advocacy Center's donation provided two Propio Interpreter robots. This technology will help victims of abuse by offering real-time translation services.

The donation to the North Salem Volunteer Fire Department helped purchase an ambulance cot fastener antler. This fastener keeps the cot from being accidentally removed from the vehicle and provides increased operator assurance when loading and unloading.
