Community Partnerships Educate Students on Trade Opportunities

Community Trade Opportunities

Hendricks Power, MCCSC, and Ford Next Generation Learning collaborate for local students to explore trade and professions.

On May 15th, Hendricks Power had the opportunity to host Mill Creek East  & West Elementary schools on a visit to its office. Third-grade students enjoyed a live line safety demonstration, a touch-a-truck experience, and relay races using official lineworker personal protective equipment. They even collected a few autographs from linemen!

This visit, a testament to the power of community collaboration, was made possible by the joint efforts of Hendricks Power, Mill Creek Community School Corporation, and the Ford Next Generation Learning initiative. The collaboration, with its focus on engaging students through interactive ways to explore various trades and professions within their community, is a significant step towards their holistic development.

“We’re enthusiastic about students having early opportunities to explore their interests and potential career paths. Raising awareness about local trade career options is important for future generations.” Joe Parsons, Director of Operations & Business Strategy at Hendricks Power explains. “This partnership was an innovative idea, and we look forward to more collaboration with local schools and youth organizations.”

Hendricks Power demonstrates its commitment to the cooperative principle "Concern for Community" through the sustainable development of our communities.
