Hendricks Power employees geared up for their annual Co-op Community Day, a day dedicated to giving back, serving local nonprofits, and making a positive impact in the community.
This year, nearly 40 employees spent Friday, October 9, volunteering at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in Avon, working together on projects to improve the facility and its outdoor spaces.
Volunteers tackled several hands-on projects throughout the day, including painting a shed, constructing new raised garden beds and clearing existing ones, upgrading the outdoor volleyball court, and restoring community benches.
This day gives Hendricks Power employees a chance to step away from their everyday responsibilities, work alongside teammates, and use their time and talents to support organizations in the communities they serve.
“Co-op Community Day is a great opportunity for Hendricks Power employees to come together, give back, and make a meaningful difference in our local community,” said Emily Thomas, Marketing Communications Manager at Hendricks Power.
Co-op Community Day is part of an annual statewide initiative that allows Indiana electric cooperative employees to support local service projects. The program reflects the cooperative’s long-standing commitment to community involvement and its mission to make a positive impact beyond providing reliable electric service.
