Hendricks Power Apprentices Graduate

Twenty-six lineworkers, including Hendricks Power's Jack Clark, Ty Hamstra, and Tyler Shoffner, graduated from Indiana Electric Cooperatives' apprenticeship program, Rural Electric Apprenticeship Program (REAP). REAP is a four-year program that professionally trains apprentice lineworkers from across Indiana. Graduates complete 612 hours of classroom-related study and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training at their electric cooperative. Students also complete four additional classes through Ivy Tech Community College.

Hendricks Power Crews Assist with Hurricane Helene Power Restoration

Hendricks Power line crew members provide mutual aid assistance during and after Hurricane Helene

On September 26, four Hendricks Power line crew members traveled south to Marietta, Georgia, to assist Cobb EMC in restoring power after a severe storm caused widespread outages. These crew members joined forces with 36 other lineworkers from Indiana cooperatives. Power was restored to affected communities on September 29.

Multiple linemen from Hendricks Power competed at the Indiana Electric Cooperative Lineman Rodeo, held Aug. 24-25 in Danville. The two-day event showcased the skills and safety training of electric cooperative lineworkers. 
Hendricks Power was represented by two teams and an individual participant in the statewide competition. The linemen competed in events that test skills such as pole climbing, hurt man rescue and safely changing electric line hardware. A total of 28 teams and 102 individuals from 24 Indiana electric cooperatives competed in this year’s event.
