Hendricks Power Spreads Summer Fun to Youth

Friday | June 19, 2020

Each year, Hendricks Power provides seventh graders the opportunity to attend Touchstone Energy Camp at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Ind. During the three-day camp, students participate in a variety of activities, including horseback riding, archery, zip lining, and the chance to meet other students from across the state.
Unfortunately, the camp was canceled this year due to safety concerns. In an effort to bring the camp experience to our nine campers, Hendricks Power employees created and distributed “Camp in a Box” gift packages. Packages included a variety of summer activities, including an educational electric circuit board, beach towel, water balloons, sidewalk chalk, s’mores kit, and two person tent.

“We were disappointed to hear that camp was canceled,” says Dana Cochran, Director of Member Engagement at Hendricks Power, “We knew we had to make the best of the situation and wanted to provide campers activities they would be able to take advantage of from the comfort of their own homes.”

Would you, or a middle school student you know, like to win a “Camp in a Box” package? Now through August 15th, submit a video telling us your favorite thing about summer. Plus, we’ll share your video on Facebook!
