2024 Annual Meeting

Mark your calendars for this year's annual meeting! The annual meeting and member appreciation event will take place at the Hendricks Co. 4-H Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 18, from 11 AM-7 PM. The event will feature many member favorites, including Silly Safaris, electric vehicle demonstrations, an electrical safety demonstration, balloon animals, face painting, superheroes, and voting for our Board of Directors. Members who register to vote will receive $10 in fair bucks to use at any food vendor and will also be entered to win one of two (2) $500 bill credits or one of eight (8) $200 bill credits. * To win one of the $500 bill credits, you must be present at the Business portion of the meeting at 6:30 PM.

The election results will be announced at the business portion of our meeting at 6:30 pm.

As a reminder, most members will receive an email invitation to this year's meeting to the most recent email address on file. The email will be titled "Official 2024 Hendricks Power Annual Meeting Invitation" and will be sent on July 1. The email has a QR code that will be scanned for free parking and entry to the fair to attend our meeting. The QR code can be scanned from the email as a photo/screenshot or a printed invitation. If you have any questions, please contact our office at (317) 745-5473.

CANDIDATES

AREA 6

Chris Mann

CHRIS MANN, INCUMBENT

Chris Mann is a candidate seeking re-election 
in Area 6. A graduate of Cloverdale High School, Mann holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering and a master’s degree in Agronomy, both from Purdue Univer­sity. Upon graduation, Mann chose to join his family’s farming operation, White Oak Farms Partnership. Mann has a strong interest in the electrical industry and his main goal of being a board member is to provide cost-effective and reliable electricity for the cooperative members. Mann has completed the certified cooperative director training provided by the Indiana Electric Cooperative association. Mann currently serves on the plan commission and farm bureau boards of Putnam County. He is a past member of the Cloverdale school board. He and his wife Jennifer have three children and are members of New Providence Baptist Church.

AREA 7

Susan Webb

SUSAN WEBB, INCUMBENT

Susan Webb is seeking re-election in Area 7 as the incumbent Director. Webb is committed to providing Hendricks Power members with the safest and most reliable service at the lowest cost, while maintaining the values upon which the cooperative was founded. During her past 9-year tenure as Director, she has acted upon her commitment by becoming one of the first of the Cooperative’s board members to earn Director Gold, the highest certification that can be awarded by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. This certification requires the completion of a wide variety of Credentialed Cooperative Director courses and Board Leadership programs, along with completion of two NRECA continuing education courses and attendance at approved conferences. She also represents Hendricks Power as an alternate on the Indiana Electric Cooperatives Board of Directors and is a member of the Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals. Webb is the founder of Homes & Homesites, Inc., a real estate and property management company, and has more than 33 years’ experience. She is also a longtime member of Tri Kappa, a statewide women’s philanthropic organization that promotes charity, culture, and education. Webb and her husband, Russell, are residents of Avon in Washington Township. They have four grown children and enjoy being grandparents and being active within the community.

Dale Kruse

DALE KRUSE, CANDIDATE

Dale Kruse and his wife Kristee relocated to the Avon area in 1997. They have been married 26 years and have three children, a recent Purdue graduate, a current Purdue student and a Senior at Avon High School. Kruse graduated from Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management and also a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying Engineering. He earned his Professional Land Surveying license in 2000 as well as his Professional Engineering license in 2001. Kruse has owned and operated Kruse Consulting, Inc., a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying business located in Avon since 2001. Kruse has been a member of the Cooperative since 2000.

 

 

AT LARGE

Kevin Miller

KEVIN MILLER, CANDIDATE

Kevin Miller grew up in Danville, graduated from Purdue, and lives near Bainbridge. Miller and his wife, Jenni, have been married 20 years and have two teenage daughters – Shelby and Emily. He is the Chief Lending Officer for North Salem State Bank. Working for NSSB allows him the opportunity to partner with and help many individuals, businesses, and organizations. Miller enjoys volunteering and trying to make an impact in our community and currently serves as a board member and Treasurer for The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County. Miller previously served on the Putnam County Museum Finance Committee and the Hendricks County Ducks Unlimited Chapter. He also had the privilege to coach his daughters in basketball from K-6th grade and was involved in 4-H with his daughter. Miller’s hobbies include anything outdoors. He has a passion for hunting and fishing with his daughters. The Miller family are members and attend Westbridge Church in Danville.

Jeff Blaydes

JEFF BLAYDES, CANDIDATE

Jeff Blaydes graduated from North Putnam High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a Master Degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He was employed at CSX Transportation for over 30 years in roles of increasing responsibility prior to retirement in 2014. He feels passionate about helping others and being involved in the community. He served on the Putnam County Community Foundation board of directors and remains an honorary board member for the organization. He and his wife Judy reside at Heritage Lake and are active within the property owner’s association. The couple are also members of the Purdue President’s Council. Blaydes is seeking an opportunity to use his education, experience and skills to make a positive impact for future generations.

Beau Birge

BEAU BERGE, CANDIDATE

Beau Berge is a lifelong resident of Hendricks County, currently residing just outside of Amo. He attended Amo/West Elementary and Cascade Jr. and Sr. High School before attending and graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. Berge has been a wireless telecom professional for over 25 years with various roles. He is now responsible for regional business development using data analysis to drive network investment decisions in infrastructure and retail distribution. He plans to use his experience navigating the challenges and opportunities of new technology to provide a useful perspective to the Board. Berge’s wife Mari is a special education instructional assistant at Mill Creek Community Schools, teaching children crucial life skills. They have been married for 25 years and have two children attending college, pursuing careers in law and forensics.

 

Seth Quivey

SETH QUIVEY, CANDIDATE

Seth Quivey and his wife Katie, a nurse at Riley Children’s Hospital, relocated to Brownsburg in 2021 to put roots down and support a prospering community within Hendricks County. Quivey is seeking election in At-Large district. Quivey attended Western Michigan University, earned a degree in Business Management, walked on to the football team for the Broncos, and earned a starting position and scholarship. Quivey is currently a Sr. Manager of Supply Chain for HIAB, a heavy equipment industry, with oversite of the warehouse distribution center located in Plainfield, IN.  Quivey has 16+ years of experience within logistics, warehousing, procurement, and leadership in various industries to offer in support of the board. The Quiveys are active members of Connection Point Church. They are actively raising three young children, Blake (6), Kendall (4), and Miles (1) in the Brownsburg community. The family enjoys playing/coaching youth sports, camping, fishing, running, playing board games, and supporting his father’s cattle ranch.

VOTING

To ensure all members have the chance to vote, Hendricks Power will be offering online and day-of voting for our board of directors election. Election results will be announced at the business meeting on July 18, 2024. All participating members will receive a chance to win one of two (2) $500 bill credits or one of eight (8) $200 bill credits. * To win one of the $500 bill credits, you must be present at the Business portion of the meeting at 6:30 PM.
