Election results will be announced at the business meeting on July 23, 2026. All participating members will receive a chance to win one of two (2) $500 energy credits or one of eight (8) $200 energy credits. * To win one of the $500 energy credits, you must be present at the Business portion of the meeting at 6:30 PM.

Members and their families can bring and scan the QR code from their invitation (email or physical) for free admission to the 4-H fair. Showing the pass on your phone or a screenshot will qualify. Once admitted, members can vote at the Sponsor of the Day Pavilion.
Members will receive $10 in fair food vouchers to use at any food vendor on July 23, 2026. Online voters are eligible to pick up their fair food vouchers at the Sponsor of the Day Pavilion on Thursday, July 23, from 11 AM - 7 PM.
CANDIDATES
AREA 4

HAL TRUAX, INCUMBENT
Hal Truax, the incumbent director seeking re-election in area 4, is a lifelong resident of Middle Township and a Pittsboro High School graduate. He owns and operates a diversified no-till cover crop farm near Pittsboro with his son, Ethan, and has been a Hendricks Power member since 1984.
Truax has served on the Hendricks Power Board of Directors for more than 30 years and currently serves as vice president. He also represented Hendricks Power on the Wabash Valley Power Alliance board, serving two years as its chairman, and has completed all electric cooperative director certification programs.
Active in the community, Truax has held leadership roles with the Hendricks County Soil and Water Conservation District, Hendricks County Farm Bureau, and Indiana Sustainable Agriculture. He has served on the steering committee for Leadership Hendricks County and represented Indiana on the resolutions committee of the American Farm Bureau National Committee. He is also a Stephen Minister on the Board of Trustees at Avon United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Susan, have served as 4-H leaders for more than 35 years. They have three children and two grandchildren.

MITCHELL ALEXANDER, CANDIDATE
Mitchell Alexander resides in Danville with his wife, Allysa, and their two sons. A lifelong resident of Hendricks County, Alexander graduated from Tri-West High School in 2013. He and his family attend Your Venture Church and are actively involved with Lifewise Academy.
Alexander enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing, and is an avid sports fan, especially of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Hoosiers. He is the owner of Alexander Contractors, an excavation and general contracting company based in Pittsboro, Indiana.
AREA 5

KEITH COOPER, INCUMBENT
Keith Cooper graduated from Ben Davis High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Purdue University. Cooper farms approximately 2,000 acres, raising corn, soybeans, and wheat. He also raises Black Angus cattle.
Cooper has been a member of the cooperative since 1998 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. Cooper also served on the Hendricks County Fair Board from 1992 until 2003. Cooper currently serves on the executive committee for the Hendricks Power board of directors.
Keith and his family live west of Danville, near Amo. He has two children and two grandchildren.
AT-LARGE

DAVID THOMAS, INCUMBENT
David Thomas is a lifelong resident of Hendricks County and a 1980 graduate of Cascade High School. He and his wife, Debbie, have been Hendricks Power members for more than 40 years. They have two daughters, Ashley Alexander and Lacey Watson, and two grandchildren.
Thomas retired from the Kroger Co. after 42 years of service, during which he began as a part-time bagger at the Store in Plainfield. During his career, he served in various roles, including clerk, Store Management, District Management, and Division Operations Manager, which encompassed 150 stores in Indiana and surrounding states. During his career, Thomas was twice awarded the Kroger President’s Award, which is awarded annually to an associate who best models the Company’s Core Values of Integrity, Honesty, Diversity, Inclusion, Safety, and Respect.
Thomas completed his Board Leadership Certification with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and represents Hendricks Power Co-op on the Indiana Electric Cooperatives Board of Directors. His community involvement includes Hendricks County 4-H, Hendricks County Community Foundation, and Sheltering Wings. Thomas and his wife are members of the Danville Church of Christ.

CHARLES HARLAN, CANDIDATE
Charles Harlan is seeking election as one of the At-Large Directors for Hendricks Power Cooperative and believes his extensive professional and leadership experience would be a valuable asset to the cooperative.
A graduate of Valparaiso University, Harlan completed the ROTC program and served nearly six years in the U.S. Army, leaving with the rank of captain. He later worked for the Transportation Security Administration for four years before transferring to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Indianapolis. Harlan recently retired after more than 34 years of government service, concluding his career as a financial systems analyst.
Harlan and his wife have been married for 40 years and have a daughter, a son, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren, ages 4 and 6. A devoted Christian, Harlan serves at Center Community Church in Plainfield and takes pride in using his leadership experience to serve wherever needed.
